Srimanthudu Movie Review - A Golden heart to give back to home town (Village)

The main plot of the film revolves around the concept of adopting the home town or village for its scientific development. It blends right proportions of emotion and social message. The leading role played by Mahesh Babu aka Harshavardhan, is the son of a billionaire (Ravikanth) Jagapathi Babu who is a self made man. Harshavardhan isn’t interested in leading the business powerhouse created by his father instead he wants to pursue his passion. He accidentally gets a glimpse of Charrusheela and the character role is played by Shruthi Hassan, and falls in love with her. He enquirers her about subject of her education, that’s precisely about rural development. Harshvardhan excited about it and wants to pursue the same course in the college. Incidentally, Ravikanth  had fled from his village as he had to pay the price for doing good things.

Harshavardhan goes back to his village, gets accommodation from Narayana Rao (Rajendra Prasad). He invests his personal money for the development the rural development, builds school, lays road, and provides host of other good amenities for the villagers.

The local goon played by Sampath Raj as Sasi is irated by the good deeds of harsha , wants to thwart his activities. Sasi’s barbaric approach towards people by inflicting fear of death in them to grab their lands for selfish business needs. This makes the village people to flee their village to cities to safeguard themselves from death.

Harsha acts as a savior to the village people, and he will clampdown on the illegal activities of the goons. He is able to combat the evils in the village.

Mukesh Rishi is the minister as Venkat Rathnam and also brother of Sampath Raj(Kasi) plays the typical role as minister to deceive the people with his corruption.

Venkat Rathnam and kasi become very much apprehensive about their sustainability of their power in the village, and tries to slay Harshanvan , to ensure they remain the undisputed ones to conquer the village.

As they try to kill Harsha, and their men with weapons, during a tussle between them, he is injured severely, gets hospitalized in his own constructed Hospital. Ravikanth gets to know about his son’s dire situation, drives down to his home town and requests the village people to let his Son go along with him to the city.

 Harsha goes back to Hyderabad, but his heart is still on his village, the people, their problems, and to rescue them from the repressive Venkat Rathnam. This will make him restless; he feels he is more important to his people as opposed to being the only son of his father. He convinces the importance of him staying in village to rescue his family of villagers; this would eventually make his father to change his mind set for the legitimate righteous act

Eventually, he will dismantle them the goons and their leaders, both Mukesh Rishi and kasi.

Vennella Kishore and Ali has played their role very aptly and makes the audience to enjoy the humor part of the movie.

The way the dialogues have been scripted is top notch, and the emotional dialogues are woven with lot of shrewdness. The impeccable performance of Mahesh babu with right degree of emotions really strikes the right chord and also turns movie viewers turn emotional. The movie has a strong social message to adopt their village to enhance the conditions of it, through scientific approach and it should be applauded. The director has been able to blend the movie with a good message and also included ample amount of commercial elements to cater to different segments of the viewer community.

It’s a movie with social message blending right proportions of emotional content narrated in a commercial way.
